Nude Lipsticks for medium-deep skin tones and pigmented lips

Throughout the years, I’ve tried many lipsticks and much of the shades I’ve been drawn to were nude pinks and browns.  For special occasions – bold pinks, reds, and oranges.

I could never leave the house without putting something on my lips.  Mainly because of my super dark upper lip that didn’t match my pink lower lip. That, paired with how thin they were, didn’t do much for my confidence, especially in this world where small lips aren’t deemed as beautiful and where even big isn’t big enough sometimes.

Overtime, I’ve learned there’s beauty in everything. We don’t have to all look beautiful in the same way <3.  Even the most gorgeous person on this planet will not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Anyways, these lipsticks always make me feel my best.

Merit – Slip

I discovered this lipstick this past year.  I loved how easy it was to go on.  It’s not drying at all and even though I’ve only tried the shade Slip, the other shades look gorgeous and the only thing stopping me from getting other shades was me having nowhere to wear them.  I am certainly eyeing Cabo and that will be my next purchase for the summer!  From what I remember, Cabo was out of stock for most of last summer!

Bobbi brown lipstick in babe

I have to be honest, when I first tried this, it felt a bit drying.  However, dabbing this on my lips instead of swiping it all over really made a difference.  The shade looks like the perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade (the bottom part of my lip that is! * deep skin girls know ;P *

Charlotte Tilbury – Stoned Rose

I love the formulation of this line of lipsticks.  It’s moisturizing and pigmented.  This particular shade is a nude brown with a hint of orange.  It’s such a great nude to wear without making my skin looked washed out.  There’s no 90s nude lips here, if you know what I mean!

Charlotte Tilbury – Pillow Talk

This particular shade only works for me in the summer time but it’s so hard to find a matte that doesn’t dry out my lips, which always seem to feel dry no matter what.  However, the formulation of this isn’t drying like a lot of the other matte lipsticks I’ve tried.  I’ver read a lot of reviews on this line of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and although the reviews are mixed, I think the hype around these are real, especially if you are someone with dry lips and would love to be able to wear a nice matte!

Of course, you don’t need to choose these shades, but I highly recommend these products for the formulations!  I loved these particular shades on me and they are all so easy to apply.  Confident I can do it without a mirror ;P.

XoXo,

Always Blushing

About Me

Why should you care about what I think about makeup? Why should you take my recommendations? Once upon a time I lived for makeup. I bought so much, swatched anything worth swatching. I’ve tried so much and bought so much. I was a Sephora makeup junkie.  Although my current life is much different than ‘once upon a time’ was –  being a new mother, working from home since Covid hit so not wearing makeup for years, not having much time to myself and  being on a budget, my love of makeup remains.  My makeup collection is still quite large compared to the everyday Jeynthi, but my everyday makeup routine can be done in less than 5 minutes, all with products I love!  If you can relate, follow along. I don’t intend to make it complicated.

Below are some of my makeup stats!
